Great design may attract audience but none of them will stay attached to the sight without interesting content.

Here are some tips to create good and informative content rich website.

Writing content for Internet marketing website is not like writing a story for English class in high school or even university.

Website Copywriting That Sells

Try to forget most of the things what you have learned in early English classes. Yes, of course it is tough for those who were good students. There is no need to write complete sentences and sometimes you even not need complete grammar. Just keep this sentence in your mind "no one wants to be talked to; they just want to be communicated with". And to follow this sentence, write like you talk.
When you are writing for business website, make a search for keywords because you are not only writing for audience, you need to keep search engines in your mind. And this is the main thing which creates difference between simple story writing and copywriting for websites.

First of all, find out what surfers will put into search engines to find your site, and then weave story around those keywords. Try to maximize the amount of those keywords in page title, headings and subheadings.

 

What do "clients" really want?

Start thinking like your clients. Place yourself on their place. What do they want, what are their desires, what makes them happy, sad, and happy? What they like? What they do not? Just put yourself in their minds.

You will succeed only and only if you can give them what they want, satisfy their desires and calm their fears. Make them see what you want to see them. You have power of words, you can do anything just put yourself in their mind and think as your clients think.

 

Get Their Attention

You have very little time to convince your client to stay long enough to discover your solution. On average, not more than 10 seconds. So grab your chance, you write partially for search engines, you write mostly for your readers.
Client's eye often go to the top left corner first and then he or she will see heading of your content. So try to convince them there. Heading is the most important part which can make or break your website. So, heading should be interesting and relevant. Say everything in plan English; no one would like to devote his or her time to "guess" or "think" about content of your website.


Capture their interest

While writing, use informal and friendly tone. Keep paragraphs and sentences short, so that they can easily view your content in single glance as sometimes clients don't have enough time to read two MS word pages.
In case you are bound to write long web content then break them into short paragraphs with subheadings and bullet points.

 

Show them why they want it

When we are talking about "getting into readers' head" we are talking about looking for their benefits. Always keep in mind that "readers are basically selfish". All they care about is "what is in it for me?"
None of them would like to think about your service or product. They just want to read how your product or service will save their time, make their lives easier, sexier, healthier or richer. How you can be beneficial for them.

 

Tell them when to buy

Just add some time limit in your content or somewhere in your page. Try to create sense of urgency with quantity or time -  limited offer. If they will not use your service or product today, they will simply forget about you.

 

How to end

In the end of your web site copy add P.S. because after heading, it is the most read line in web content. Repeat your call to action and summarize your main benefits.

It's not design that the search engines pick up. It's content. It's not design that gets visitors to stay and find out what you have to say. It's content. And it's not design that gets visitors coming back to your web site again and again. It's content.
